Crescent Beach Life Guarding Corporation

The Crescent Beach Life Guarding Corporation (CBLG) is wholly owned by the Crescent Beach Swimming Club , and has been providing contract waterfront lifeguarding services to the City of Surrey since the summer of 1997. The lifeguards are responsible for two swimming areas – one north of Sullivan Point where the Tanks are, and one south, which dries at low tide. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 8:30 pm all summer, wrapping up on Labour Day. Most of CBLG’s lifeguard staff have worked for CBSC, and are required to have current waterfront lifeguard, first aid, and boating certifications. CBLG also teaches the Junior Lifeguard Program through CBSC, which is offered to youth aged 10 to 14.

The management of CBLG of is all volunteer. The president of CBLG sits on the board of the CBSC, and has a committee of dedicated volunteers that oversee hiring, policy & procedures, and guidance for the head lifeguard.

The committee can be reached at cblg@cbswimclub.ca.
